AVOCATION
As a long-time surfer, Dr. Barre has chased waves from Fiji to the Hawaiian Islands. Still, training in internal martial arts, bee-keeping, Russellian Science, and medicinal herb farming is his present passion.
Although retired from clinical practice, "difficult cases" always comprised the bulk of Dr. Barre's international client base. The custom compounding of nutrients, homeopathy, and herbs became necessary in meeting their needs. This experience would become the roots of a retail-oriented line of macro-nutrient herbal formulas he developed, carrying the namesake of his present home in the Mattole River Valley, Mattole Valley Naturals. Alfa Vedic and AV Botanical Gardens are Dr. Barre's work's natural culmination and subsequent evolution.
