Steven D. Dreyer, DC, was born and raised in Corona Del Mar, California. He graduated from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1987 and continued his education by completing a three-year postgraduate course of study in the highly acclaimed Chiropractic Orthopaedics Program. This led to the achievement of diplomat status with the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists and recently being named a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (F.A.C.O.), a distinction earned by approximately 800 of the 60,000 licensed practicing chiropractors in the United States. Dr. Dreyer is also a certified Disability Evaluator and has served as a Qualified Medical Evaluator in California for 14 years.
Dr. Dreyer has established a broad-based practice by integrating the benefits of chiropractic with physiotherapy modalities, massage, nutrition, and exercise rehabilitation. He has also provided custom foot orthotics to his patients for the past 20 years. This unique combination of therapies has proven very effective in treating and preventing a broad spectrum of health concerns and injuries.
Due to his interest in providing complete health care, Dr. Dreyer has incorporated nutrition, exercise, and preventive measures into his practice.
Dr. Dreyer is an avid sports enthusiast, having competed for years in duathlons, triathlons, and cycling events. His experience and ongoing education provide Dr. Dreyer with a vast knowledge base in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries. In addition to these treatments, Dr. Dreyer has included nutritional support for athletes in his practice.
His background in Chiropractic Orthopaedics and his interest in providing specialty care for complicated injuries including, but not limited to: whiplash, back, and neck injuries. Dr. Dreyer is actively involved in the specialized treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. Dr. Dreyer works closely with dentists, oral surgeons, and orthodontists to treat TMD cases. He is one of a select number of chiropractors trained to provide extensive pre-and post-operative care for T.M.J. Syndrome patients.
Dr. Dreyer is practicing at Newport Spine & Sport in Newport Beach, California, where he has been since 1996. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists, a member of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopaedists, and a member of the I.T.A. (Interdisciplinary Temporomandibular Joint Association).
